Is Heartsong a Medicaid Waiver program?
No, Heartsong is not a Medicaid Waiver program.
I have been approved for FSS services, how does that work at Heartsong?
Heartsong is an FSS program. We have a contract with OPWDD where we receive limited funding to assist in reducing rates for our clients. Our fees are income based and anyone residing in Westchester County with an adjusted gross income under $200,000 is eligible for tuition assistance.
Can I be reimbursed through FSS for your services?
Yes, Heartsong is reimbursable under FSS. Please contact ARC Westchester to learn more about this process.

This program provides OPWDD eligible individuals of families with emergent financial support when no other resources are available. Financial support is provided for goods and services that include but are not limited to delinquent rent, food and utility payments and other allowable reimbursable items under FSS guideline.

Can I use self direction at Heartsong?
Yes, Heartsong is able to accept self-direction for our art and music therapy sessions, only. Dance therapy services are not eligible at this time. Please note that if you would like to add Heartsong to your self-direction budget, Heartsong is reimbursable through clinical IDGS services. It is important to note that Heartsong does not offer classes, but therapy sessions, which are only reimbursable through clinical IDGS services.
