Kate is a licensed creative arts therapist and registered drama therapist who
received her master’s degree in drama therapy from NYU in 2008 and her bachelor’s
degree in theater from DeSales University in 2003. She has 15 years’ experience in
the field having worked with several clinical populations ranging in age and ability.
Prior to coming to Heartsong she worked as a drama therapist at the Hebrew Home
at Riverdale where she was primarily stationed on an advanced memory care unit
and before doing so served on the management team of Terry’s Place PROS, a
mental health program designed to provide services for adults with mental illness
and developmental disabilities. Kate began her career using drama therapy with
autistic individuals both at Helping Hands Behavioral Outreach and Kid Esteem
Social Learning Center on Long Island. She is happy to be at Heartsong, providing
guidance and clinical direction to a brilliant team of creative arts therapists.
